In a tiny
little workshop in Devon, England, you will find Nat and Naomi immersed amongst
piles of fabrics, tins of buttons and two mugs of tepid tea. It all started
back in 2010.
Naomi and
I met shortly after our children were born in 2009. It wasn’t long after
meeting that we realised a joint creative interest and subsequently embarked on
a brilliant mission to learn to sew and make clothes together.
In October 2011 we opened the doors to our online shop selling handmade toddler clothing and accessories. At this time we had just two styles of trouser on the shelves, it is crazy to think of it now, but we were just so keen to open our doors!
Our core motivation has always been to make super funky, practical and comfy clothing, with a joint belief that when it comes to children’s clothes, style should never be provided as a compromise to comfort. So often we see clothes that have been generally overworked, with ugly motifs or awkward looking frills, we like to keep our designs clean and fresh-looking.
In all of our design work and fabric selection, comfort is the first priority, closely followed by “fun”. We love styles that induce a feeling of nostalgia. No doubt you’ll pick up on the retro vibe and enjoy the symmetry and simplicity, but most of all the fun!
